Fingerprint scanner

Question: What was the first smartphone to feature a fingerprint scanner?

Answer: The Pantech GI100

Released in 2004 by South Korean company Pantech, the GI100 allowed users to secure their device using biometric authentication. Unlike today's seamless in-display sensors, the GI100's fingerprint scanner was a physical module on the device.

Though it did not achieve widespread popularity outside of Asia, the Pantech GI100 was a groundbreaking device that paved the way for the fingerprint sensors we now take for granted on iPhones, Android devices, and even laptops.

Why "Dooley?"

Inspired by the founder's alma mater - Emory University's spirit mascot, Dooley represents the voice of the student body. And when Dooley shows up to your class, you can count on a fun time and the rest of the day off!
